I use Cotypist every day, and it works. It is autocomplete for your whole Mac. The rest of the sentence appears as grey text in front of the cursor. Tab takes the next word or the whole line, so you can keep just the half you can use. If you keep typing, the suggestion adjusts after a few letters.

It lives in the text field itself: Slack, Mail, Notion, the browser, the comment field in Jira. No setup per app. It fixes typos in the word you are in the middle of.

It learns from what you write: your vocabulary, your system names, the way you wrap up a no. The model runs locally on Apple Silicon, so both the text and what it learns stay on the machine. Relevant if you write about unreleased features and internal priorities. It also makes long prompts quicker to write, as it happens.

On the other hand, it has to be trained. On day one it guesses generically, and it took a few days before it hit my phrasing.

Tip of the week

Get it at cotypist.app. Free, no account or card, Apple Silicon only. Use it only in Slack and mail for a week, and leave documents alone.
